Photojournalism at its very best - this is the portfolio of Bill Roberts. A native of the Toronto, Canada region, Bill has been photographing the people and surroundings of this beautiful city for several years with a high degree of success.
Our first impression of Bill's portfolio was, "Wow!" Bill received the coveted "Wow!" factor from our staff, for his incredible images in the photojournalism medium of photography. Very few photographers on Profotos receive this nomination, as it takes more than just being an exceptional photographer to reach this level.
Bill's work in photojournalism can be rated among the very best professional artists in the world. Several of Bill's photographs go beyond the documentary style of photojournalism found within many photographer's portfolios. They become works of art, which stand on their own without any by-lines or captions. They are worthy of the "Wow!" factor.
Without elaborating at length, we will allow you to see Bill's portfolio for yourself. You can see for yourself what we mean when we say, "Wow!",I am a 1995 photojournalism graduate of Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario. I shoot mainly for community newspapers in and around metro Toronto, as well as a tabloid daily, The Toronto Sun. I have also contributed to trade publications.
As a freelancer, I do accept assignments, but usually prefer to shoot news and feature pictures on spec. While most of my photographs include people, I never pose or otherwise set-up the shots. My intention is to let the viewer see something that really happened, without any influence from me.
Once I take a picture I get the film developed then edit the negs. If I have a photo that I think may work I send it via E-mail to the picture desk of a local paper for their consideration, along with the caption information.
