Profotos Staff Evaluation:

One of the first thoughts in the minds of our staff at Profotos, when we viewed Gerard's portfolio was "unique." Gerard's work in photography is very unique in its design and style, as he incorporates the old and the new in his images. While this uniqueness is quite different than many photographers, whose work we have reviewed in the past, it does contain elements seen in some of the best masters of the craft.

Among the unique aspects of Gerard's images is his great use of graphical lines and lighting. Several of Gerard's images have wonderful lighting, which is complemented by his masterful implementation of "psychological" burning and dodging to emphasize the main subject. In his landscape/location images, Gerard uses line and lighting together to produce images, which are very striking and definitely - unique.

This is one body of work, which our staff was very pleased to review. Over 30 years has gone into the production of Gerard's portfolio and it is quite obvious that this is the portfolio of a master of the craft. Enjoy viewing the images in Gerard's portfolio - very few can compete with what he has accomplished.
