Paul Blieden is a painter and photographer who lives in Manhattan Beach, California. He has been doing both since he was in high school. His photography hangs in company offices and homes across the United States. He works in both medium format and 35mm. He utilizes a Canon 20D digital, a Bronica ETRS and a Canon EOS-1N. He travels throughout the United States and overseas taking photos mostly for his own enjoyment. But he has found that many individuals like his work enough to actually pay him money for his work. What a dream to do what he enjoys and to get paid to do it. Mostly self taught, he has learned through a lot of trial and error to see what pleases his artist's eye; and when someone tells him one of his photos looks like a painting, he knows he has done something right.
Landscapes, portraits, wildlife are just a few of the areas that Paul Blieden has taken his fine art photography eye. The idea that one should specialize in the area of fine art photography is antipathetic in Paul Blieden's view of fine are photography. He believes that once one masters the technical aspects of the camera one can produce fine art prints of high quality in any area of interest and he has many interests as varied as his life has been so far – from metrologist to engineer to investment broker and artist/photographer always.
Paul Blieden operates a web site www.paulblieden.com. The website provides a venue for the presentation of his fine art photography. Besides fine art prints and note cards, stock and portraiture services are offered on the website.
