Top of the day to you and thanks for the visit. I am a retired geographer (geographic information systems/mapping/remote sensing applications) who lives in Mississippi. Photography training began at Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara, California. Their thrust was commercial applications using 4x5 cameras as well as medium and 35MM formats. My first worthy photographs were taken throughout the west with the Calumet 4x5, Black and white, mostly Tri-X film and 2 1/4 format Mamiya C-33.
These cameras, the required darkroom and photo adventures, were retired for many years until the acquisition of a Canon-20D, (EFS 17-85 lens), in 2005. Natural history subject matter provides the greatest pleasure, with some dabbling in cultural settings.
It was my good fortune for these scenes to have crossed the path of my travels and creative efforts. Good fortune should always be shared. Thus, my highest purpose and pleasure is to create images that please friends and strangers. If the photographs at times fall within the realm of "Fine Art" my ego is stroked. But, your judgment is of a higher order. Please feel free to take a glance at the galleries and stay awhile if time or interest allows.
